What is embrasure dental?

Embrasure dental refers to the space between two teeth where they meet at their sides and touch each other. The shape and size of the embrasure affect the gum health and dental hygiene of the teeth. There are four types of embrasure - Type I, Type II, Type III, and Type IV. Type I embrasures have a broad ‘U’ shape and allow easy cleaning of the teeth through interdental cleaning devices. Type II embrasures have a ‘V’ shape and are more challenging to clean. Type III embrasures have a triangular shape and are highly prone to gum disease and decay. Type IV embrasures occur between teeth that have flared roots and are even more challenging to clean, making them prone to decay. Proper dental hygiene, including regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups, can help maintain healthy embrasures and prevent dental problems.
